Wash Basket DIY Upcycle

As you may know from a previous post, I am a big fan of 'carbooting'. This is both buying and selling.
Last summer I decided that I would start keeping an eye out for bits for my new home when I am able to move out with my boyfriend. I have come across quite a few bits, and always try to see potential in those slightly more worn out pieces.

Here is a wicker wash basket that as you can see was not in the best condition. I saw past this I decided I could revamp it and make it my own.

With the help of my niece, we scrubbed it clean. This took quite a bit of scrubbing! But eventually the water ran clear and I had a nice base to work with.

Using a can of spray paint I purchased from my local screw fix, I coated it in several layers and completely transformed it into a piece of furniture I would happily have displayed in my home.

I am still keeping an eye out for a nice little clasp to attach at the front, but I am very impressed with how this has turned out!

In total, I spent £3 on the wash basket, an £4 on the spray paint, so £7 is a very cheap wash basket!!

Thanks for reading :)

xx
